Can we post questions here?
Yes, please do
Yes, post questions or messages to all of us or just one person (click on down arrow next to "everyone")
If everyone not presenting disables their video, it can help with connectivity and stability of the zoom instance. I'm not sure how many have their video on, but just throwing that out there.
All of our presentations and resources shown here will be available on our website, https://extension.wsu.edu/wahkiakum/covid19/
I'm the project manager for YouPickFarms.org - a social purpose organization with the initial mission to help connect local farmers and their communities, to support local businesses, and promote healthy food options, initially intending to launch in May.With COVID-19, we want to shift our initial goals to help out as we can. We believe this could be with services such as a mapping service for farms to easily list and browse resources for sharing, in an informal way as shared earlier. We are also almost ready to list farms and produce themselves on filterable maps.If you have any suggestions or ideas as to how we can help in this abrupt and uncertain environment, please let us know. My email is: firstname.lastname@example.org - I apologize if this isn't the correct format for this, but I hope it's alright.
David, what geographic area are you covering?
Hadn't intended to actually launch yet, but we're based in Mukilteo. We were going to start in Washington, but as it's an online website and resource, we are not limited and can extend throughout the US and other countries.
Our registration process and mapping are still about 2 weeks away from production, but we want to stay up to date with the community and help how we can.
Even if that means shifting our initial focus.
There are several farm directories for WA state online now. Like Pierce County Fresh, Eat Local First, Farm Guide (Tilth) etc.
sorry, had to reconnect
I got the last note about Pierce County Fresh, Eat Local First, Farm Guide (Tilth) etc.
We are eventually aiming to be an interactive map service, with customizable farm and market profile pages, and direct produce delivery.
Please email me at email@example.com if you want to stay connected on COVID19 farm resources and info
Or share here in chat box, mindful sharing with others here too.

There are specific recommendations for U-pick operations. I'll send them to you, David.
There is also the WSU Farm Finder tool: https://farmfinder.cahnrs.wsu.edu
Thank you to all of our speakers. Very informative.
Clark Conservation District made something similar: https://clarkfarm2go.com/
Long term market effects (similar to the labor shortages mentioned - things like transportation and supply / production factors), would be good in 1-2 months, if we are still in the quarantine.
This is great. Proud to be a part of this community.
Right on Erik. Agreed
humans are the vector
Thank you all- grateful to be here
Carrie, can you post a link to the webpage for Wahkiakum fresh.
do we have an idea if they will let farmers markets operate?
Thank You! Great information!
hah! just found the chat box. Thanks for coordinating this Carrie. :)
thank you Carrie
Farmer's markets may open as scheduled because they are less risk (open air) but may need to have more packaging.
Thank back . :)
Thank you, Carrie.
