Cavy Basics is a Zoom workshop covering introductory information for youth new to caring for and raising cavies. Youth do not need to own a cavy to participate in the Zoom. Topics covered will include feed, water, housing, and basic handling for safety (picking up a cavy, holding a cavy, posing a cavy on a table). You can be ready for Cavy Basics with:
*Paper and pencil - if you like to take notes or draw to remember
*Feed label (cavy pellet ingredients and nutrition information)
*Carpet square (to pose live cavy on)
*Plush cavy/stuffed animal or live cavy in carrier (person to assist with holding)
*You can ask another person to take your photo for your 4-H Record Book during the Zoom
*Long sleeves, hair tied up/back, no jewelry
Please Note: Youth age 9 and younger should have an adult helper during the Zoom.
